We're Moved In!!!!

Well, unfortunately, we never got the right to move stuff into our new house prior to closing, so for a couple of short hours, we were homeless and living in 3 U-Hauls:-)
But, we are officially moved in and everything is GREAT! We absolutely love the new house - which totally reminds us of our home in Benton - very open floor plan. It's perfect for entertaining and in the 10 days we've been here, we've had company all but 2! I know that sounds crazy for a lot of people, but Lee and have always enjoyed having people over - but in our previous house - you had to be spread out in different rooms, so you lost the whole 'community' vibe so we just didn't entertain much.
We are absolutely LOVING the pool and Nicolas is turning a nice shade of brown...in fact, I'm sitting by the pool right now, blogging, while Nicolas is in the pool with his friend Nick. Not making any promises, but it's real possible I may blog a little more frequently now that we are unpacked and settled in. Especially if I can sit out here and do this while he's playing...it's really ideal.
It's hard to believe how fast all of this happened and that's it's actually over! I've spent the past week vigorously unpacking and putting more stuff aside for garage sale/goodwill that should have never made the move. We are going to be organized in this house...atleast for a little while!
Our new neighborhood has sidewalks and quiet streets for Nicolas to ride his bike and scooter...but of course, he'll need to get out of the pool in order to try that out:-)
Well, that's it for now...I'm in the middle of reading "My Sister's Keeper" and it's just gripping...

SO MUCH going on...

Holy cow - so much has happened since my last post!
Lee and I just got back from a much needed trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico. We went with the Schlitt's and had an awesome time!
A couple of weeks prior to that trip, we decided to test the waters on selling our house. We've been talking about it for a year and decided to finally give it a shot. We listed it on a Tuesday - SOLD it on Sunday!!! Totally a God thing, I'm sure. We found another house and got a fabulous deal on it. Everything's just moving so quickly and falling right into place - a great blessing!
We close on our house on June 26th, but aren't scheduled to close on the new house until June 29th...which means for three days we will be 100% debt free (ha, ha!...and will also be homeless...minor details).
We are trying to get the closing date moved up and get early possession of the new home so we can get our stuff moved in and not have to store it for a few days.
This has been virtually stress free for us - our realtor is AWESOME...Raelenna Ferguson - and we feel God's hands all over this so we just rest assured that everything will work out just right.
In the meantime, Nicolas finished Kindergarten - and is more or less not the same kid he was when he started. He is so stinkin' smart and has grown up so much it just blows my mind!
So pretty much...in 16 days we'll be moving...but FIRST, I'll be taking a week and going on a mission trip with our Jr High students (I think there are 22 of them going)...so I've got a very busy couple of weeks ahead of me...

The Word of Promise

I recently became an official book reviewer for Thomas Nelson Publishing. In exchange for writing a review (doesn't have to be positive, just honest...which I'm really good at!), I get a free copy of whatever book I am reviewing.http://brb.thomasnelson.com/ For someone who loves to read, this is a great deal!
The first book I selected for review was actually not a book at all, it was an audio version of the New Testament - The Word of Promise: Next Generation.
I was a little concerned at first, because I've actually listened to other audio versions of the Bible and haven't really enjoyed them as much as reading. But this one was different. Maybe because the readers are all teenagers/young adults, or maybe all of the additional enhanced sound effects that made each chapter come to life...I really enjoyed this one.
This is great to listen to in the car and is also great to listen to the stories of the Bible with Nicolas (who just turned 6), as it seems the Bible stories are much more exciting when read by the cast of High School Musical and Hannah Montana than when he hears them read by me.
This product comes on 3 CD's, so you don't have 50 discs to keep up with, and also has a DVD that shows some behind the scenes stuff from the recording of the project. There is also a 40 Day Listening plan that you can follow to make it thru the entire New Testament in 40 days...which is quite cool!

Long Time, No Blogs

So, clearly, this blogging thing is just more than my complicated, busy life can keep up with! Since my last entry, Nicolas became an indoor soccer superstar (per me, of course), we went to Key West for a much needed mini-vacation, I had a birthday, Beef's celebrated it's "official" grand opening, and Nicolas is now 6 years old! Once again, I'm going to try to get more consistent at this...but I say that about FaceBook too...

As promised...

I'm so proud...I actually took the time to upload a few pictures, as promised in my lost blog entry. Check out the album to the right.
We are packing our bags this week and heading to Key West!!! We will be visiting friends from Washington, DC and vacationing with them.
I'll check back in and keep you posted:-)
